| Ellisville, Missouri is part of the West St Louis County area. Very centrally located, it's approximately 5 miles to Highway 40/64, 5 miles to highway 44 and 7 miles to highway 270. It is made up of approximately 4.12 sq miles which are bordered by the Cities of Ballwin, Wildwood, Clarkson Valley and a section of unincorporated St Louis County. Originally incorporated in 1932 as a village, it became a city in 1957. In 1993, Ellisville changed it's form of government to a council- manager style. Ellisbille is already planning a HUGE celebration of it's 75th Birthday, with planned activities at Bluebird Park on May 23rd, 2007. A lovely city, Ellisville has been designated as a "Tree City USA" by the National Arbor Day Foundation for the past 23 years. The City has 11 parks with a combined total of about 230 acres. Summer is a GREAT time in Ellisville with concerts at Bluebird Park, annual Fourth of July Fireworks and much more! Recently the Ellisville city pool was closed for repairs. While it is closed, the city has been negotiating with nearby cities to let the Ellisville residents use the other city's facilities for a reduced price. Ellisville often refers to itself as the City of Trails and Parks. According to the 2000 census, Ellisville had a population of 9,104, a median income of $65,016 and a median home value of $150,500. Housing consists of single family homes, townhomes, apartments, duplexes and condominiums. Typical lot sizes range from a builder's 1/2 acre to 3 acres.
