Welcome to Mehlville!  While Mehville is technically an unincorporated area, it utilizes the 63125 zip code.

This great community in unincorporated South St Louis County had a population of about 28, 822 people in 2000.  At that time, the median household income was $43,734 and the median home value was $109,200.

The area is home to Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary, and Jefferson Barracks Park.  The park is 425 acres and sits along the bluffs of the Missouri River.  It was originally a military (Army) post that was established in 1826 to train US Infantry Troops.  The National Cemetary was established at the end of the Civil War, at the location of the Post cemetary.  The cemetary holds the remains of both Union and Confederate soldiers from the Civil War, along with graves that date back to the founding of the St Louis area and the first military outposts located here.  There are a couple Revolutionary soldiers buried at Jefferson Barracks.  While sections of the old Army Post are used today by the Army Reserves, much of the old post is used for recreation purposes.  This area was noted as a large inprocessing center for the Army during WWII.

Mehlville also lays claim to Westfield South County Shopping Mall, numerous large and small strip malls, great family restaurants and spectacular views of the River from the Bluffs.  On e of the favorite picnic parks in the area is Bee Tree Park, which is maintained by St Louis County.

Mehlville has it's own school district, appropriately called Mehlville School District with approximately 12,000 students.  The school district pulls students from the unicorporated communities of Mehlville, Oakville, Concord and Lemay.  While some individuals mistakenly believe that Oakville is it's own school district, in reality Oakville High is a Mehlville School District High School along with Mehlville High School.
