There are a LOT of great picnic spots in the St Louis area. The following is a short list of some favorite spots. Forest Park - our Central Gemstone, this great park once housed the World's Fair. Today it houses our Zoo, History Museum, the Jewel Box, the Planetarium (watch how we decorate it in December!!), a golf course, the Art Museum, Art Lake and much much more. Full of walking/bicycling/roller blading trails, picnic spots and more, come visit our City's wonderful heritage! Located between Skinker and Kingshighway beside highway 40/64 Tilles Park - Baroness and Prince Drives - a favorite of many. Turtle Park - Wonderful turtle sculptures for the kids to play on, this park is across 40/64 from Forest Park at Oakland and Tamm Mathilda-Welmering Park - 8301 Mathilda

Creve Coeur Park - A huge park with a large lake in the center of it, this park features water sports, ball fields, picnic grounds and more. - located off Marine and Dorsett Faust Park - At Olive Blvd and Arrowhead Estates Lane, this great park is just north of the Olive/highway 40/64 exchange near Chesterfield Mall. The park features the home of our Second Governor of the State of Missouri, the Butterfly House, an antique carousel that you can ride, and historic buildings that you can wander through (during the summer you may luck into visiting when they are holding re-enactments in the buildings). This park features wonderful concerts throughout the summer as well Greensfelder Park - off highway 44 at the Allerton/6 Flags exit Love Park - Manchester and Mason Lane Ohlendorf Park - Hanna Rd and Crescent Ave Queeny Park - another large park, this one features an indoor ice skating rink, huge playground, walking and horseback riding trails and more Castle Ridge Park - once the hub of the roaring 20's in St Louis, this park is a wonderful spot to visit - located off of Manchester Rd in the Manchester/Ballwin area.

Bee Tree - Finestown and Becker Rd Clydesdale Park - Green Park Rd and Tesson Ferry Rd Jefferson Barracks Park - This historic park was once home to the military outpost where the Army protected both the Indians and the traders who came to settle this area. Located just North-east of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary, follow the exit signs from highway 255 at Telegraph Rd (N) to east on Sylvan Springs (at the light) to the National Cemetary, but instead of turning into the cemetary, continue on Sylvan Springs Rd past the cemetary, then around the existing military installation's fence line to reach the park. This park features great outdoor concerts in the summer. Sylvan Springs Park - Halsey and Sheridan Rd, across from Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary - this park is not adjacent to the Jefferson Barracks Park, but is about 1/4 mile west of the other park. Mastadon State Park - 1050 Mueseum Dr in Imperial, you can see the entrance to the park from 55 North - come see our mastadon and other fossils! Laumeier Sculpture Park - 12580 Rott Rd, just east of 270 off of 44 Suson Park - Wells Rd, south of Highway 21. This park features great summer concerts

For great picnic lunches, please remember that sandwiches and other perishables shouldn't be left unrefrigerated for more than an hour or two, so please pack lots of ice or ice packs with your food!
